Audience Involvement in Stranger Things and The Killing

Stranger Things:

Stranger Things can be consumed on Netflix only (legally) and because their target audience is the younger demographic they usually respond on social media and connect that way. Additionally, on Netflix they have a review system so the audience can respond through reviews and ratings on Netflix which allows them to quickly see how their show is doing lets them make quick changes if needed.

Websites such as Facebook, Tumblr and Wikipedia all contain content related to Stranger things such as fan pages, showing they have a large fandom which connects via social media and other sites like YouTube where theories and fan art are shared.  People also make merchandise for the show which shows people are really interested in the show and want to let people know they watch it.

On sites such as YouTube fans of the show connect by sharing their ideas in a video format so others can communicate their thoughts as well and because the demographic for stranger things is younger quite a lot of their fans use sites like YouTube which allows for a mini community to form which also has an impact on the direction stranger things is headed.

Who gets involved?
The dawn of social media has allowed everyone to get together and participate with shows so we cant exactly put a number on who gets involved but it definitely is a lot because Netflix is shown in every country apart from china, I think Stranger things has a large fanbase. 

The Killing (Forbrydelsen):
The Killing isn't as popular as Stranger things likely due to its age and because the demographic it is aimed at is older there arent as many fan pages and i actually couldn't find any. 

There is a page on Forbrydelsen on IMDb however which has positive reviews on the show so it isn't a bad show it just isn't as popular as it was. Also on RedBubble there are 2 T shirts based on Forbrydelsen which shows they do sell merchandise based on the show which shows the remaining fans are loyal which fans tend to be when we are talking about older shows.

People can respond to Forbrydelsen via social media and forums that are set up however more people are interested in the american remake as it got more advertisement which has revived the show as well as it being newer. 

Who gets involed?
Im not sure how many get involved but I do not think it is that many as there arent enough sites purely about Forbrydelsen to show that they have a significant fanbase but I think the target audience for Forbrydelsen has likely moved on due to the age of the show.

This picture is a low angle of a tree the genre could be a comedy about a squirrel. The genre is not really reflected as you cannot gather very much from an image of a tree. It is the point of view of the creature running away from a predator, i believe the angle went well as it really captured how large everything is from a squirrels point of view. I think the shot would be improved if there was some motion blur as this would represent the speed of the squirrels' escape and possibly add tension.  This image here is of a woman "running" in an action genre.The genre is reflected vaguely as the image could belong to a variety of genres. I think the image could be improved through the use of a wider shot as it would allow the viewer to see the "peril" she is in as the scenery around her would be more obvious.
